Fushigi Yuugi is a beatifully done series, and I have the utmost admiration towards Yuu Watase for creating such a masterpiece. The characters are just easy to love, and the storyline just makes you want to keep on watching.

Why do I consider Fushigi Yuugi one of my top favorites? For one thing, it had such a wonderfully planned storyline, and with the romantic twists and turns were something I liked.

Tasuki and Nuriko, two of my favorite all-time anime characters. Tasuki, he's just damn cool. Although he's the typical tough guy, with a bad-ass attitude, he's still a good and strong hearted character. And his tessen was what got my attention at first.
Nuriko. I know that Nuriko is a guy. But Nuriko also has a strong feminine and strong male personalities. I'll admit it, I fell in love with Nuriko's feminine side, and still loved it, even after I found out that she was really a he. Even

his male personality was easy to fall in love with, Nuriko's character was so strong, passionate, and emotional. I know what you might be thinking after reading this, if you are another ignorant fool. If you are thinking what I think you are, you are one f'ed up individual.

Another thing I liked. All the characters had a personality. There was no real "ditz," with the exception of Miaka acting stupid at times. All the characters were driven my one or multiple factors, like Tamahome and Nakago. All the characters, overall were wonderful, except for that pesky Miboshi. There's always something about short bald guys that I don't like. They're so funny looking.

Anyways ... Fushigi Yuugi has earned my respects as one of my favorite anime series. I own the entire series, and a few of the CDs. I can only wish for more Fushigi Yuugi, but that is asking for too much.
